Virtus Bologna, Jordan Mickey recalls success with Olimpia Milano ahead of Valencia
Jordan Mickey’s words.
Jordan Mickey spoke to Corriere dello Sport on the eve of the challenge with Valencia Basket, the eighth day of the Euroleague scheduled for Thursday night at the Paladozza, also recalling the victory over Olimpia Milano in the last round.
“The last one was a great victory, I am happy to have contributed to the team,” Mickey said. To win in Milan and try to do it again in the challenge with Valencia, the keys were our defense and control of rebounds. Our team knows the way to bounce back from tough defeats, we know we have the stuff to be an important group, it’s just a matter of time to close the loop for good. We have a great chance to be a playoff group if we continue to play strong on defense, putting in physicality and rebounding.”
He then explained what it means to play with Toko Shengelia and Milos Teodosic: “Playing with Toko is a great experience, he is so smart. This formula can be a big key for our future. As well as playing with Teodosic is great, he loves to pass the ball and look for teammates to create an open shot.”
Finally he commented on daily life in Bologna: “The transition to Italy has been smooth. I love the food, the best ever. Bologna is beautiful. I lead a simple life, training and relaxing with my wife and daughter. On the parquet I am competitive, always want to win, outside a very calm and relaxed person. It is important to keep our homes safe, for our children and for everyone.”
