Nadal has a soft spot for young compatriot
In a lengthy interview with Marca, Nadal also addressed the new generation, from Alcaraz to Sinner: “This new generation has a better chance to win than the previous ones because, besides Roger’s retirement, Novak and I are playing less and less.”
The 36-year-old Majorcan then focuses on Alcaraz: “Carlos (Alcaraz, ed.) is very special and is a player who I think will mark an era. When I say he is special, I mean he is very fast, he hits very hard, he has a great forehand and a great backhand, and he has the mentality to be a great tennis player,” Nadal’s own honeyed words.
