Seven athletes will be summoned for the men’s World Cup slalom on the track in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. Among the jointed poles of the Teutonic slope, the Azzurri will be on the track on Wednesday, January 4 (first run 3:40 p.m. and second run 6:45 p.m.) with live television coverage on Raisport and Eurosport) with Giuliano Razzoli, Stefano Gross, Alex Vinatzer, Tommaso Sala, Simon Maurberger, Tobias Kastlunger and Matteo Canins, making their debut on the top circuit.
Italy boasts six successes on the German slope in the slalom, the last of which is dated 2009 by Manfred Moelgg preceded by Alberto Tomba’s three victories (1993, 1994 and 1995) and two seals by Fausto Radici in 1976 and Piero Gros in 1975. The Azzurri also record five second places-with Giorgio Rocca in 2009, Manfred Moelgg in 2008, Piero Gros in 1976 and Gustavo Thoeni in 1974 and 1975-as well as three third places by Tomba in 1992, Paolo De Chiesa in 1982 and Fausto Radici in 1975. Last year, two slaloms were held in which, in the first, the best of the Azzurri turned out to be Vinatzer in seventh place followed by Stefano Gross in 11th, while in the second, sixth place for Razzoli and ninth for Vinatzer.
