Reinforcement under the basket for Marco Legovich
A blow under the basket for Pallacanestro Trieste: in fact, coach Marco Legovich will be able to count on a new reinforcement, made official by the club on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.
“Pallacanestro Trieste 2004 officializes the acquisition of the right to the sports performance until the end of the current season, of the American wing-center, class of 1996, Emanuel Terry,” reads the note circulated by the biancorosso club through its official channels.
“26 years old, 206 centimeters for 100 kg, Emanuel Terry was born in Birmingham (AL, USA), and grew up basketball among the LMU (Lincoln Memorial University) Railsplitters, with whom he played from 2014 to 2018. Starting in 2019, Terry put on his resume experiences in Turkey, at Banvit Basketbol Kulübü (now Teksüt Bandırma BK) and in Israel, at Hapoel Jerusalem; in September 2020, he joined the ranks of KK Crvena Zvesda, the Red Star of Belgrade, a Serbian team playing in the Euroleague. After a two-year stint in the NBA Development Legue, serving with the Phoenix Suns and Stockton Kings, Terry landed overseas again in 2022, in the ranks of Orleans, in the top French basketball league. At the beginning of the current season he settled in with the Samsung Thunders of Seoul, South Korea, where he played 24.1′ of game time, with 11.3 pts per game, 9.0 total rebounds and an average rating of 16.3,” the Trieste release continues.
Coach Marco Legovich had his say on the new addition, “First of all, I would like to thank the ownership for this important addition that undoubtedly increases our available solutions. His European resume in leagues such as Turkish, Israeli and French, as well as important experience in the Euroleague with Red Star Belgrade, are certainly an important calling card. Terry is a versatile player with excellent physical qualities, capable of expressing his verticality and quickness within the pick and roll game. Defensively, he is an area intimidator, with great timing for assists, stops and rebounding presence. Finally, his responsiveness allows him to be a factor on defense, marking both the longs and holding defensive changes on the outside.”
