Milan, Maignan and Ibrahimovic at last: Pioli’s announcement
Milan, Pioli: “Mike can play, he was a lion in a cage.”
AC Milan is ready to re-embrace Mike Maignan: in a press conference on the eve of the match against Atalanta, Rossoneri coach Stefano Pioli confirmed the return of the French goalkeeper between the posts of the Diavolo’s goal.
“Maignan is playing, he has been a lion in a cage these months because he could not do what he always does on and off the field. He is very motivated. Tatarusanu has fully done his duty and has not trained for the last few days due to flu.”
In addition to Maignan, the employment of Zlatan Ibrahimovic is also now certain, perhaps not from the 1′: “He could see himself on the field again. The first summons was to get him back in the group, while now he is available and ready. The more leaders are available the more everyone feels confident, convinced and strong. The technical and tactical aspect is important, but the mental aspect matters more. Against Atalanta we need conviction and serenity to get the ball.”
On Bennacer’s condition: “A muscle injury. We tried to recover him for Tottenham, he is fine but these days he is doing high intensity in training and it is not the time to risk him.”
