Italy won the gold medal in the men’s overall team competition at the 10th Artistic Gymnastics European Championships with a total of 249,526. Silver for hosts Turkey with 248,262, third place for Great Britain with 246,961.

With a straightforward, error-free competition and peaks of absolute level, Yumin Abbadini (Pro Carate), Marco Lodadio (Aeronautica Militare), Mario Macchiati (Fermo 85), Matteo Levantesi (Virtus Pasqualetti) and Lorenzo Casali (Giovanile Ancona) achieved a historic result, never achieved before since the tournament’s debut in 1955 until today. The Azzurri led by DTN Giuseppe Cocciaro and head of delegation Andrea Facci, with coaches Luigi Rocchini, Marco Fortuna and Alberto Busnari, who were fourth at last year’s World Championships in Liverpool, move up a notch after the continental runner-up finish in Munich and the Mediterranean Games in Oran, also in 2022.
