Honda-Marc Marquez face-off: what’s going on
Marc Marquez confronted Honda’s top management on the sidelines of the disappointing Mugello race: reported Motorsport. The Catalan rider reportedly spoke with Honda Racing Corporation president Koji Watanabe and Honda Motor number two Aoyama, and was accompanied by Jimmy Martínez, his manager.
Both technical manager Shinishi Kokubu and team manager Alberto Puig remained out of the summit. “The meeting went well; meetings always go well. Then we’ll see what happens,” explained Marquez, who has long called for a total change of pace.
Watanabe himself commented on rumors of Marquez’s possible farewell: “We feel he is still part of our family. Honda respects the opinion of its riders. We do not feel any fear, but we will respect his decision.”
