Ferrari, Vasseur furious: “Huge damage on Sainz’s single-seater”
The team principal surprised by what happened at the Las Vegas track
The Las Vegas GP did not è start in the best way. Sainz’s Ferrari hit a blown manhole cover on the track. Result? First free practice session cancelled and the Spanish driver’s Ferrari completely damaged.
Vasseur, team principal of Ferrari, è appeared rather miffed at what happened: "Considering that the circuit è is new, I am surprised at what è happened on the track. Definitely difficult start for us but it è not over. At the beginning there è was fear about Sainz's condition. He è was shocked. I watched the video 10 times and didn't understand what had happened. Then we realized…", his words to Sky Sport.
Sainz’s free practice day è completely compromised: "There's been a huge damage to Sainz’s car. Fortunately, there were no problems for Sainz but the single-seater suffered serious damage. He will skip the second free practice session (postponed, ed.). However, we will try to help him as much as possible to make sure he is ready for Saturday. I think what è happened today is unacceptable for Formula 1".
