Series A: harshly punished Massimi referee after errors
Referee Luca Massimi è has been harshly punished by referee designator Rocchi after directing the Frosinone-Torino match. The Termoli-based match director will no longer referee in Serie A until the end of 2023 because of two serious mistakes, reports Gazzetta dello Sport.
Massimi erred on the occasion of the missed second yellow and thus the missed sending off of Oyono, and è was saved by Var on the nonexistent simulation whistled to Kaio Jorge in the Torino area.
Rocchi also rejected the choice of Sozza in Salernitana-Bologna, when at 42' of the first half he did not send off Dia after a bad intervention on Saelemaekers.
"Oyono? The second yellow for him seemed clear to me, then it would have been a different match. We accept the referee's decisions and think about us, although è it's hard to understand why he didn't take out the second yellow. Lately we are suffering from too many mistakes", had been Juric’s words in the post-match.
