Jannik Sinner è already working in Melbourne ahead of the Australian Open starting Jan. 14. The Italian tennis player, who has already held his first training session, will participate next week in a Slam preparation tournament, the Kooyong Classic, an exhibition that will see him face other big names such as Holger Rune and Casper Ruud.
The azure, Sky reports, will play with a new racquet, the Head Speed MP: the same brand as Novak Djokovic, the world number one and main favorite at the Australian Open.
According to Supertennis reports, Sinner’s racket will beà slightly lighter than Djokovic’s (300 grams vs. 310) and will have a wider string mesh.
Sinner, who will train with Swiss Stan Wawrinka on Saturday, is aiming to improve on the quarterfinal he reached in Melbourne in 2022, when he stopped against Stefanos Tsitsipas.
