Australian Open, velvet debut for Jannik Sinner
The blue outfielder è imposed himself 6-4, 7-5, 6-3 in two hours and 34 minutes of play
Sinner's adventure at the Australian Open begins in the best possible way. The Italian outfielder, in his debut match, got rid of Van de Zandschulp on the Melbourne Central in three sets. The South Tyrolean won 6-4, 7-5, 6-3 in two hours and 34 minutes of play. It was a solid performance considering it was his first official match in 2024.
Also on the other side of the net was Van de Zandschulp, a tennis player with interesting potential (world number 59). Even in the hot moments of the match, Sinner never lost concentration, handling himself as well as he could and bringing home the victory with great shrewdness, never giving his rival a real chance to put him in trouble and stretch the match.
"I want to play the best I can and I am happy with this start. &It was important for me to go skiing after Davis, not to think about tennis for a few days and to dive back into preparation", his words in the post match with also a reference to his coach Cahill: "Very important to have him with me, he brings me peace of mind. We are teaching him to eat pasta the right way".
