During an interview at the microphones of "Novosti.rs", Novak Djokovic's former coach Nikola Pilic, among other topics, was outspoken about the potential and growth prospects of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, who could be the main rivals of the Serbian world number one during the 2024 season.
"When he won in Madrid I said Carlos would be the heir to the big 3, but do you want to tell me that he will be able to hold this level for another 12 years ? He's strong and è a good player, but his body is wearing out. He had several injuries last year, but he comuqnue played very well" began the former coach about the Murcia native.
"Jannik è a good player and in the last months of 2023 he reached a very high level, forò he still misses winning a Grand Slam tournament. I don't agree with the decision to nominate Darren Cahill as the best coach, because Goran Ivanisevic would have clearly deserved it, as Djokovic won three out of four slams last season" added the former Yugoslav tennis player.
