Salvatore Sirigu changes teams again

It’s only lasted four months, but it certainly wasn’t satisfactory, Salvatore Sirigu’s adventure at Nice. The Sardinian goalkeeper had returned to France, where he had already been from 2011 to 2016 at Paris Saint Germain, to play the titular role with Polish Bulka, without managing to take away his colleague’s place.

Now Sirigu’s career will continue in Turkey, at Fatih Karamguruk, a team that already counts a large colony of Italian players in its roster and that last season had another goalkeeper from our home country, Emiliano Viviano, who now è al’Ascoli.

It cannot be said that Fatih Karamguruk is doing brilliantly: è in the middle of the relegation zone and è back from the knockout (0-3) suffered at home to Besiktas. Sirigu, who just turned 37, has also worn the national team jersey 28 times in his not-so-short career.

The soccer market window will end on Thursday, Feb. 1, at 8 p.m., with the classic closing of the doors, often the subject of rather embarrassing scenes, which will take place at the Sheraton hotel in Milan. So there are still two weeks left for domestic clubs to improve the staff available to their coaches.
