Significant achievements for both the high and low rankings.

Parma defeated without extenuating circumstances in Modena, with direct pursuers Cremonese and Venezia shortening the distance. But in Serie B, a Saturday devoid of draws also yields important results for other areas of the standings, from playoff to salvation (starting with Como defeated at home by Ascoli).

The match of the day, however, was played in Modena, where the hosts won 3-0 over leading Parma. The result was in the bag for the canarini already before the half-hour mark, thanks to goals by Battistella on 15' and Abiuso on 23'. In the second half, Ponsi closed out the Emilian derby at 47' and Pecchia’s pinwheel of substitutions was of no use.

If the leader brakes, however, the same cannot be said for the two second in the standings. In fact, both Cremonese and Venezia win with as many 1-0 home wins. The grigiorossi make theirs the Lombard derby with Brescia thanks to Abrego's goal at 30', lagunari victorious over Ternana with Busio's signature at 84': Parma is now 4 points behind.

Heavy home defeat for Como, where Ascoli wins 2-0: decisive in the last ten minutes Mendes and Cassandro's own goal. Cosenza goes up again, victorious 1-0 on the field of Südtirol (in goal Frabotta, after Forte’s missed penalty). Reggiana moves away from the playout zone, thanks to a 2-0 win in Bari (Fiamozzi and Bianco on goal). FeralpiSalò and Spezia shorten the salvation quota: winning at home against Lecco 5-1 and imposing themselves in Pisa 3-2 they both reach precisely the Larians in last place, which now equals 20 points in the standings.
