Sampdoria’s comeback success ends Serie B weekend

Sampdoria beat Cittadella 2-1 at home in the last match valid for the 22nd round of Serie B. For the blucerchiati led on the bench by Andrea Pirlo è a very important success to try to climb the standings and recover morale after a negative series characterized by only one point in the previous four outings.

The final 2-1 win allows Samp to climb up to 13th place in the standings, joining Pisa on 26 points (+4 over the playout zone). Cittadella, on the other hand, remains in fifth place tied with Palermo with 36 points, and more importantly remains -5 from the second place that, at the end of the regular season, would be worth direct promotion to Serie A.
