At the end of the season, Xavi and Barcelona will part ways. A "common-sense and irrevocable" decision, as stated by the coach who announced the farewell after the heavy knockout against Villarreal. Xavi è grew up in Barcelona and stayed there until 2015 becoming one of the strongest midfielders in history and winning an avalanche of trophies among which 4 Champions League (14/15, 10/11, 08/09 and 05/06) stand out. Overall, he totaled 767 games, 85 goals and 185 assists with Barcelona, Martian-like numbers. Between 2015 and 2019 he played for Al-Sadd'Al-Sadd, then started coaching the Qatari club itself.

On Nov. 6, 2021 è he was announced as Barcelona’s new coach and signed a contract until 2026, which però will be discontinued at the end of the season.
