MotoGp, Ducati: Enea Bastianini doesn’t hide emotion
Enea Bastianini overjoyed with second place in the Gp d'Italia
Putting behind him the disappointing Catalan weekend (fifth place in the Sprint, eighteenth in the Gp) and the unfortunate Sprint race twenty-four hours ago, Enea Bastianini closes the Sunday dedicated to the Grand Prix d'Italia with a splendid second place in the MotoGp race, a position gained thanks to a splendid comeback in the last laps that brought him from the fourth place to that of honor.
"This result comes after a difficult period – said 'Beast', who had not been on the podium since third place in the Gp of the Americas, in the interview on the sidelines of the podium celebration -. I kind of slept towards the middle of the race, but when Marquez passed me I realized that I had to get back to pushing to recover. I passed Marquez first and then, when I saw Martin close, I tried and made it. I am delighted".
The official Ducati team rider does not hide his excitement: "Overtaking Jorge has great significance, it allowed me to collect a beautiful result at home. The only thing I reproach myself è having lain down a little in the middle of the race, for the rest I felt good from the beginning to the end".
At the end of the interview, Bastianini wanted to address a dedication: "This podium è for my little dog – he said -, è who passed away a week ago, unfortunately: I considered her my little girl".
