F1 Gp Canada: Ferrari nightmare, Leclerc and Sainz retired. Verstappen wins

Freezing shower for Ferrari and Charles Leclerc in Montreal: after the triumph of Monte Carlo, the Maranello team è gone from the stars to the stables, finishing with zero points in the Canadian Grand Prix with the two retirements of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, which resulted in the worst weekend of the year for the Prancing Horse.

Instead, world champion Max Verstappen restored the hierarchies, crossing the finish line first in Montreal ahead of Lando Norris’ McLaren in a race affected by bad weather and less than perfect track conditions. On the podium with them was George Russell.

The other bad news for Ferrari è the growth of Mercedes, which in addition to Russell’s third place è managed to place Lewis Hamilton in fourth. Fifth was the other McLaren of Oscar Piastri, ahead of Fernando Alonso's Aston Martin. Retired was the other Red Bull of Sergio Perez.

After Saturday’s troubles, Ferrari experienced a very difficult Sunday, with Leclerc forced to retire with an engine problem on his SF-24. But very bad è also went to Carlos Sainz, who failed to recover and è was forced to abandon on lap 58 after contact with Albon.
