Alberto Bettiol wears the symbol of primacy

Italian cycling celebrates, on Tuesday, the top of the Tour of Switzerland classification that Alberto Bettiol è good to take at the conclusion of the third stage of the Helvetic race, from Steinmaur to Rüschlikon of 161.7 km. The EF Education-Easypost rider did not è manage to win today’s sprint, placing third behind Thibau Nys (Lidl-Trek) and Stephen Williams (Israel-Premier Tech), but thanks to problems in the finale of Yves Lampaert, yellow jersey until today, è jumped to the top of the general classification.

"I take the yellow jersey and I am very happy – are the words of Bettiol to 'CyclingPro' – It was a hard stage, this jersey è a good result for me and for the team. I hope I can repay my teammates for their work today. Tomorrow the Tour of Switzerland changes face, the climbs begin, Carapaz and the other climbers I hope can enjoy the positive atmosphere within the team".

Bettiol è the leader of the Tour of Switzerland with a total time of 7 hours, 39 minutes and 20 seconds. He is followed, in second position 6 seconds behind, by Britain&#39s Ethan Hayter of Ineos Grenadiers, the Dutchman Wilco Kelderman of Team Visma-Lease a Bike and the runner-up of today&#39s stage, Stephen Williams.

Born in 1993, Alberto Bettiol has been riding for EF Education-Easypost (with the various name changes over the years) since 2019. In his career he boasts a success at the Tour of Flanders (2019) and one at Milan-Turin (2024), as well as a stage in the 2021 Giro with finish in Stradella.
