The 25 km in open water at the European Championships in Belgrade è was triumphant for Italy in both the men's and women's fields.
Among men, in fact, Dario Verani won the gold medal with a time of 5 hours 8 minutes 50 seconds and 9 tenths, preceding Matteo Furlan by 5 seconds and 7 tenths, who completed the Italian one-two by winning silver. The bronze è went to Frenchman Axel Reymond, trailing by 9 seconds and 6 tenths.
Blue gold also among women, where Barbara Pozzobon triumphed, covering the distance in 5 hours 25 minutes 37 seconds and 7 tenths. Silver to Germany’s Lea Boy at 3 minutes, 1 second and 9 tenths, bronze to Spain’s Candela Sanchez Lora at 3 minutes 37 seconds and 5 tenths.
