A new center for Dolomiti Energia Trentino
New center in Trento
Dolomiti Energia Trentino has announced that it has reached an agreement until the end of next season with long American Selom Mawugbe. Selom is a center with great athletic skills, a rim protector and good at finishing to the iron.
È was born in Santa Clarita, a city located a few miles north of Los Angeles, California, on July 20, 1998, and is 207 centimeters tall and 104 kilograms. His parents originated from Ghana.
He began taking his first steps in basketball at Canyon High School and then went on to college at the Azusa Pacific Cougars, a team that plays in the NCAA in Division II. In 2020 he signs to the Santa Cruz Warriors, in the G League, where he plays for two seasons, recording 6.5 points, 7.6 rebounds per game and shooting 66% from the field in 23 minutes of usage.
His first European experience came in the 2022-2023 season in Germany to the Rostock Seawolves (German Serie A), where he played an’excellent 8.6-point, 6.6-rebound, and 2-stop per game season in 26’. This good year allows him to win the BBL’s best defender award.
In the last season Selom first played in Le Mans and then signed at Baxi Manresa in the ACB liga where he reached the playoffs.
