Ferrari, mea culpa Charles Leclerc: “I made a mistake.”
Bitter qualifiers, with an admission of being wrong.
Charles Leclerc does not go beyond sixth place in qualifying for the Austrian Grand Prix, once again disappointing after those ahead of the Sprint Race ended with a tenth-place finish. This time forò è it was the Ferrari driver who determined his fate, admitting it without mincing words.
Decisive was the last lap of Q3, when Leclerc è ended up wide in the last corner. It was not, moreover, his first mistake, as the second sector had also seen some smearing on his part. "I am sorry, I tried too hard" è was his first hot explanation, connecting via radio with the Ferrari box.
"My goal è always to try – then explained Leclerc at the end of the day, interviewed by 'Sky Sport' -. Today forò I went too far, and it did not pay off. I was very happy after Turn 1 and Turn 3, as I had recovered two tenths from the lap before. Unfortunately forò I went straight into Turn 4 and then tried to give it my all, but I ended up in the gravel".
"I am particularly sorry, becauseé in Q3 we were doing very well and the Ferrari team did a good job. If today I am soì backward è becauseè it was me who made a mistake, and the sorrow è even greater since we come from a difficult period for everyone", added Leclerc.
