The Men’s National Team is preparing to play its second match at the Olympic Games: tomorrow at 9 (Live TV Discovery, DAZN, Rai 2) Giannelli and his teammates will face Egypt; an opponent that on paper looks like not irresistible, but that it will still be necessary to face with maximum concentration in order not to run into possible problems.
Giannelli and his teammates, in fact, were the protagonists of an excellent debut against Brazil that allowed them to win three fundamental points in the race for qualification to the quarterfinals; continuing on this path would allow them to present themselves to the last challenge with Poland in the best possible conditions, but the Azzurri group repeats like a mantra that the right formula è competition after competition, step by step; the attitude that è then has been the trademark of the young tricolor group made a protagonist of the international scene in the last three years.
Of the same opinion è Gianluca Galassi, the Azzurri central player who collected his 100th presence in the Azzurri precisely in the opening match against the Greenoro: “To win against Brazil in the debut match and to do it that way è was very exciting and beautiful. It è never easy to have such a debut, then against Brazil, a really strong team. We are happy and satisfied with what we did. We played a really great game, in my opinion at times we played really very very well, the result of the work we have done in these months. We still have big room for improvement even though we seem to be at a good point. We played good volleyball. It was a match that mattered so much; for us è it is natural to think from match to match and that every single match represents a final, but maybe this one against Brazil was even more so; for a variety of reasons”.
Blue then continues: “To have reached the milestone of 100 appearances in the national team è was very nice, like everyone my dream as a child was to wear the national team jersey and I have succeeded, this achievement makes me even more proud; now forò è time to think about Egypt, do not underestimate them, becauseé will be the match that could take us a big step forward towards qualifying for the quarterfinals. Now we will also have to understand the fact that we are playing at 9 a.m.; something we periodically get to do around the world, but it è never easy. We will have to be ready and prepared to play another good game”.
Galassi, who moved from Monza to Piacenza in the summer, talks about his season: “Given what we managed to do in the season ‘23-’24 it could be one of my best seasons in terms of performance, but as far as my national team activity is concerned I think I have not yet played at my best for different reasons, but which I honestly cannot describe now. For sure in the club è it was a season to frame, during which we cut incredible goals, but now è it’s time to think about the national team and I want to aim as high as possible”.
The central then spends words of praise for the tricolor group of which è has been a staple for years now: “We are very united and this è a really important factor for us. The group è more or less the same for three years, we have been together since the first European after Tokyo. &Eegrave; a team that has been able to suffer and get back up after some defeats that have weighed on our path of growth; but that has also been able to stay there, after victories, without ever getting excited. Definitely the group è well united, we are all great friends; we enjoy being together and playing. Right now we don’t set limits; then we’ll talk about it in a couple of weeks or about ten days (laughs, ed.)”.
