Stockholm: Matteo Berrettini fights but not enough, Dominic Stricker wins

Matteo Berrettini's adventure at the Stockholm ATP 250 ends in the round of 16. On the Swedish indoor concrete, in fact, the Roman tennis player è was defeated by the Swiss Dominic Stricker with the score of 7-6 6-4, after a long battle of almost two hours of play.
In the first set, balance reigned with both players managing to keep their turn at bat while minimizing break chances. In the tie-break è Berrettini got off to a better start, posting a mini-break and flying to 5-2. However, the Roman dropped in intensity and the Swiss first made up ground then won the partial on 8-6 thanks to a courageous serve&volley.
The second set delivers excitement from the opening game, where Stricker manages to hold serve tooth and nail after nullifying no less than three break points. Past the initial chill, both the Azure and the Swiss return to being unbeatable on their respective serve turns. In the decisive moment, however, Berrettini again had the worst of it, as in the tenth game came the first break of the match in favor of the class of 2002, which opens wide the doors to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
In the next round, Dominic Stricker will face the winner of the match between Frenchman Quentin Halys and number three seeded Grigor Dimitrov.
