Moto3: David Alonso also wins in Barcelona and rewrites history
A record-breaking season finale.
David Alonso also wins the last round of the Moto3 season, putting his name in the record books of the category. On the Montmelò circuit, near Barcelona, comes in fact for him the fourteenth success of the season: never anyone had succeeded. With him on the podium Daniel Holgado and Angel Piqueras.
Moto3 also confirms in Montmelò the great desire of its protagonists to battle until the last meter, but also the dominance of its protagonist of this 2024. Over the course of the race, Alonso, Holgado and Fernandez alternated in the lead, with a scrum pack battling for the top positions until the finish line. The numbers help to understand the level of David Alonso's feat: for him, in addition to the record of success number 14 in a single season, are seven victories in a row (improved a record that already belonged to him), 15 seasonal podiums (equaled Cortese in 2013 and Viñales in 2013), but also 22 consecutive races in the points. This also represents his personal record.
