Andy Murray will follow; Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic isnè t among the protagonists of the Davis Cup Finals being held in Malaga, but inevitably he canè t help but make people talk about him, especially because, on Saturday, he made an announcement that left insiders stunned: Andy Murray, in fact, will join the Serbian championà s team, ahead of next season.

In a video posted on his own social channels, accompanied by the phrase "However, retirement he è never liked", Djokovic explained: "We were rivals for so many years, we brought out the best to prevail one over the other. I thought he was done, but really there's still one last chapter: joining my team. Welcome aboard, coach".

The reference of Djokovic’s sentence è to the one that Murray himself had written, jokingly, on his own profiles in the aftermath of the official retirement: "I è never liked tennis anyway" had been his words, taken up by the Serb to welcome the Scot in a nice way.

Djokovic and Murray have faced each other 36 times on the ATP main circuit: 25 wins for the Serb, 11 for the Scot. The last completed direct clash (the one in Madrid in 2022 was not played due to Murray's injury) was played in 2017, when Nole prevailed over the Briton in three sets in the final of the Doha tournament.
