The Gp d'Italia remains in Monza until 2031

Now it&#39s official: the Italian GP will continue to be held at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza at least until the 2031 World Championship. The extension è was made known by F1 itself through a statement on its institutional profiles.

"Formula 1 announces that the Italian Grand Prix will remain on the calendar until and including 2031 as part of a new six-year extension of the existing agreement, which instead will last until 2025. The new agreement follows significant modernization works at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza carried out for the 2024 Grand Prix, where 335,000 fans attended throughout the weekend to witness Charles Leclerc and Ferrari" this is the note issued by F1.

"I am happy that the Italian Grand Prix remains on the calendar until 2031. Monza è the beating heart of F1 history and the atmosphere every year è unique as people gather in large numbers to cheer Ferrari and its drivers. Recent upgrades to the circuit infrastructure and planned investments demonstrate a strong commitment to the long-term future of F1 in Italy and I want to thank the President of the Automobile Club d'Italia, the Italian Government and the Lombardy Region for their continued passion and commitment to our sport. I also want to pay tribute to our fans across the country who support F1" this is the comment of F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali.

"It&#39s a great honor for us at the Automobile Club d'Italia, to have been able to guarantee the hospitality of another six seasons of the Italian Grand Prix at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. We must thank the valuable and instrumental contribution of the current Formula 1 Chairman and CEO Stefano Domenicali, who made this contract extension possible. I would also like to thank the Italian government and all the local institutions that have made possible the realization of a GP capable of attracting an increasing number of fans. In particular, I want to emphasize the fundamental contribution of the Italian Government and the Lombardy region, which financed the work carried out this year on this centennial circuit. Monza è the world's oldest racetrack to host a World Championship race and è also the longest-running event on the championship calendar.

After the resurfacing of the roadway and underpasses to improve safety on the track and for fans, we are now facing a new challenge in 2025, which is to improve the quality and quantity of the hospitality on offer. We are already working hard to keep up with the standards required by Formula 1" this, instead, is the thought of ACI President Angelo Sticchi Damiani.
