Torino, sprouting a lead in South America to replace Duvan Zapata
Torino on Hidalgo
One of the priorities at home Torino in the winter soccer market session will undoubtedly be the purchase of a new striker to make up for the serious absence of Duvan Zapata, who will not be back available before next season. The Ds Vagnati, in fact, would already be following several profiles with the aim of giving Paolo Vanoli a reinforcement that will allow the granata to get out of this moment of difficulty, as evidenced by the only two goals scored in the last seven games.
According to reports in the Argentine daily "Olé", the Piedmontese club is reportedly keeping a close eye on young Independiente center forward Santiago Hidalgo. Contacts between the parties would have already been initiated and there would be cautious optimism regarding the success of the negotiation, accomplice to the player’s expiring contract in December 2025 and the South American club’s need to sell.
L'Independiente, for its part, would be willing to sell the player for a sum around 4 million euros. The main obstacle, however, would be related to the fact that the Argentine club would like the insertion of a clause to obtain a percentage on the future resale of the 2005 class.
The favorite for Paolo Vanoli to reinforce the attack, however, would be Beto of Everton, for whom the English are asking no less than 15 million euros. The profiles of Napoli’s Giovanni Simeone, Milan’s Luka Jovic and Milan’s Marko Arnautovic also remain in the running, albeit defiladed.
