award.

Matteo Berrettini ends the year with an award. The Roman tennis player, in fact, è been elected 'Comeback Player of the Year' at the ATP Awards 2024, after returning after a six-month stop to win three titles this season, all ATP 250 and all played on clay: Marrakech, Kitzbuhel and Gstaad.

"I am overjoyed to have won the 'Comeback Player of the Year award – admitted the azure to the official channels of the ATP – I thank you very much for the support. It was a great season, a great effort for me and my team. Obviously I am overjoyed with the results we have achieved and I look forward to taking the court in 2025 to achieve more success".

"Thank you again for your support. Without you, the fans, it would not be possible" commented Berrettini, who ended the season with a Davis Cup triumph in which he è been decisive both in doubles, paired with Jannik Sinner, in the decisive match in the quarterfinals against Argentina, and in singles, in the victories over Thanasi Kokkinakis (Australia) and Botic Van de Zandschulp (Netherlands) in the semifinals and final, respectively.

In the ATP ranking, the Roman has also made an incredible leap, climbing up from position number 154 to the top 40. Currently Berrettini è number 34 in the world.
