Australian Open: Jannik Sinner-Marcos Giron 6-3 6-4 6-2

Jannik Sinner flies into the round of 16 at the Australian Open with ease. After struggling and losing a set to Schoolkate, the South Tyrolean è returned relentless by settling American Marcos Giron with a peremptory 6-3 6-4 6-2, in just over two hours of play.

In the first set, the world number one got off to a rocket start immediately, finding three consecutive games. At that point, the San Candido native managed the break lead until the final 6-3, giving his opponent almost no chance.

In the second set, the South Tyrolean found the decisive stretch in the middle phase of the partial, snatching service from Giron in the fifth game. The American, for his part, tried to fight back, but Sinner è perfect and closed the score on 6-4.

In the third set, è once again the Italian got off to a better start, but the American, this time, managed to bring himself back in touch by recovering the break disadvantage. However, the joy was short-lived for the California native, as the world number one paved his way to victory thanks to four consecutive games.

In the round of 16, Jannik Sinner will face the winner of the challenge between Denmark’s Holger Rune and Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic.
