Sunday, April 26, with a strong blue flavor at the Mutua Madrid Open. The two Italians still in the running at the top of the men’s draw, Lorenzo Musetti and Jannik Sinner, will play their respective third round matches on Manolo Santana, the center court of the Spanish Masters 1000. Both will play in sequence as the second and third matches of the day starting at 11.

Opening the program will be the women’s match between Coco Gauff and Sorana Cirstea. Next, around 1:30 p.m., it will be Lorenzo Musetti’s turn, opposing the number 29 seed Tallon Griekspoor. Not before 4 p.m., on the other hand, it will be time for Jannik Sinner, expected to face Danish qualifier Elmer Moller.

Sinner convinced in the opener against Benjamin Bonzi, growing at a distance and imposing his own rhythm. Now he will find Moller, a player particularly comfortable on clay, fresh from his success over Diallo and ready to face a top 10 player (directly the world number 1) for the first time in his career.

There is no precedent between Jannik Sinner and Elmer Moller: the one in Madrid will be their first career confrontation on the major circuit. The head-to-head record is therefore stuck at 0-0. For Moller it will also be the first ever match against a top 10 player, and immediately against the world number 1.
