Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz already forgotten: now there are Rafael Jodar and Joao Fonseca

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are dominating the tennis world. In fact, theirs is a duopoly. If they are entered in a tournament, Slam or Masters 1000 it may be, the chances that it could be either one of them winning is extremely high, close to 100%. It is no accident that, they are taking home all the major trophies. They share them, as well as the leadership over the tennis world.
Although they are still quite young (Jannik Sinner is 24, Carlos Alcaraz will soon be 23), the two best players in the world seem to have already “tired”. There are many fans who hope someone will come along to “bother” them, someone who can compete on par with their, disarming, class. In the space of a few months, two intriguing youngsters have risen to prominence: Rafael Jodar and Joao Fonseca.
The former, 19, is already the absolute new idol in Spain. Carlos Alcaraz, currently injured, has been replaced by Spain’s new promise. “He reminds me of Sinner, he is a very complete player,” the recent words of Boris Becker speaking of Rafael Jodar. In only five months on the ATP circuit, the Spaniard is burning up the stages. A predestined player?
Then there is Joao Fonseca, also 19. The Brazilian talent is also burning out. True, he lost the challenge in Madrid to Rafael Jodar but he remains a hot name as a possible new tennis phenom. In short, some have already forgotten Jannik Sinner to Carlos Alcaraz. Clearly, those who win too much, in any sport, eventually become boring. It is the law of the fittest.
