The biggest surprise of the thirty-fourth round of Serie A was seen during Monday night’s match between Cagliari and Atalanta and it bears the name of Paul Mendy. Born in 2007, the Rossoblù striker scored two goals in 10 minutes against Raffaele Palladino’s Bergamo side but great signs of growth had already been seen in the past few weeks with the Primavera.

Mendy has impressive numbers with the team coached by Alberto Gallego (who took over in March from Francesco Pisano, who in turn had replaced Fabio Pisacane last July): 14 goals and 3 assists in 28 games, an impressive performance that testifies to the maturation of the young star.

According to the latest rumors, it seems that the double against Atalanta and, more generally, the seasonal development of Paul Mendy are making Guido Angelozzi reflect on the next market moves: the farewell of Leonardo Pavoletti and the unlikely redemption of Semih Kılıçsoy had fueled rumors about a possible new purchase by the island club.

Now, however, the solution could be precisely Paul Mendy. In this way, Tommaso Giulini could afford not to invest in the offensive department and allocate economic resources in other departments of the field.
