Arthur fils withdraws and Pellegrino advances. Ok Cobolli and Bellucci

Andrea Pellegrino surprisingly advances to the third round of the Internazionali d’Italia: the Italian tennis player took advantage of the withdrawal of Arthur Fils, the number 15 seed on the scoreboard, who after losing the first four games of the match decided to withdraw due to some physical problems. Pellegrino thus advances to the third round, where he will face U.S. Tiafoe: if he manages to beat the American as well, his next opponent could be Jannik Sinner.
Good news also for the two Italians who played in the afternoon: Mattia Bellucci overcame Argentine Etcheverry in three sets with the scores of 7-5, 2-6, 3-6. Flavio Cobolli did very well: the world No. 12 beat Frenchman Atmane in two sets in an hour and 45 minutes of play with the partials of 7-6, 6-3. In the next round, Cobolli will face Argentina’s Tirante.
The evening at the Foro Italico also gave the long-awaited premiere of Jannik Sinner, who made his debut on the Central against Austria’s Sebastian Ofner, imposing himself in two sets with a score of 6-3, 6-4 in about an hour and a half of play, never conceding a break ball to his opponent. A victory that carries with it historical significance: it is the world number one’s 29th consecutive Masters 1000 victory, a result that allows him to equal Roger Federer’s record.
Ahead of him, in the all-time ranking of winning sets in this category of tournaments, there is now only Novak Djokovic. With four overall wins at the Foro Italico, Sinner would surpass the Serbian’s all-time record, which stands at 31.
