Jannik Sinner, affectionate joke for mom Siglinde

Jannik Sinner, Fabio Fazio’s guest on Che Tempo che fa on Channel Nine, looked back on the triumphant Sunday that saw him win the Internazionali d’Italia at the Foro Italico, the first Italian tennis player to do so 50 years after Adriano Panatta. Sinner, on his sixth consecutive Masters 1000 win, took stock of his experience in Rome: “We won together, it was a very long, tough two weeks. But the audience helped me so much from the beginning and all the practices were almost already like a match; so, I’m very happy to give something positive to all of you, to the audience. And so, nothing, it was an incredible tournament.”
The South Tyrolean spoke about the little skit with President Sergio Mattarella during the award ceremony, “Here, I was and still am always excited and so to have a word with him as well was incredible. Then he likes sports and that’s the most beautiful thing. He already came last year and that is something we are very pleased about. He is so nice. Then I didn’t get off on the right foot a while ago.”
In the stands, Mom Siglinde managed to stay seated for the entire match with Ruud, unlike in the complicated semifinal with Daniil Medvedev, but in the final she couldn’t hide her tension and put her hands in front of her face. “The problem is that I could see her from the court, it’s difficult,” the champion said laughing. But it is already so much that she stayed there…”.
The exchange of jokes with Adriano Panatta: “I personally know him really little, we exchanged a few words and it was nice. He told me that he also comes to Paris, so I hope to see him there again. He was happy, and I was also happy to get to know him a little bit more. Then I hope to get to know him without so much public around.”
