Peppe Poeta enjoys passage to the semifinals and does not forget Andrea Trinchieri’s words

Three games, three victories: Olimpia Milano eliminates Reggio Emilia and advances to the semifinals of the Scudetto playoffs, where it will meet the winner of Brescia-Trieste (with the biancazzurri almost simultaneously finding 2-1 in the series against the Giulians). 82-74 was the score at PalaBigi in favor of the Red Shoes, whose players were congratulated by coach Peppe Poeta in a press conference.
“As was already the case in game 2, we won thanks to defense,” Poeta said. “We were cynical and aggressive, Reggio is a very good team that could also have won at least one of these three games. We have to give credit to our opponents because this 3-0 was not at all as easy as one might imagine at a less careful glance.”
Poeta also wanted to respond to the honeyed words, towards him, from Andrea Trinchieri, who praised Olimpia’s colleague’s approach to the series: “I really thank him but the credit goes all to the guys, they put concentration, aggressiveness, precision. It was not an easy series, we played it with the right focus. We have to go on like this.”
The Olimpia Milano coach then smiled when asked about the pressure of being the field coach of the Milan reality at this point of the season: “I try not to think about it but it’s normal that I feel it, in every game it’s like that. I am among the youngest coaches in Serie A and I sit on a prestigious bench. For me to coach these champions is a blessing as well as an honor.”
