Rafael Nadal does not hold back on the'"Jannik Sinner" era;

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have been dominating the ATP circuit for more than two years and there seems to be no end to their dominance. Now without the Murcian, out due to injury, it is the Blue who is the big player on the circuit and the number one favorite in all tournaments, starting with Roland Garros. Many insiders said they were concerned about this impressive gap with the other tennis players, and the comparison with the era of the past is automatic: the Big Three had had other top-ranked rivals such as Wawrinka, Murray and Del Potro, who had managed to snatch a few Slams from the champions. At present, however, the gap between the top two and the others seems to be abysmal.
Rafael Nadal also expressed himself on the issue: “I don’t like to say that there is less competitiveness than before, every era is different,” he said on the sidelines of an event. “Now there are two players who are making too much of a difference compared to the others and this seems to take away some value, but it is the moment they are living,” are the words reported by livetennis.
“I trust that young players will come, with enthusiasm, who will give them battle. In tennis it is good to have established champions, like Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, but it is also good that they have aspirants. And today it seems like there are no aspirants.”
Nadal said he was happy with his career and with no particular regrets: “I’ve tried hard enough to get to this point in my life in peace, knowing that I’ve done things by committing myself in the right way. And if more was not done, it was because there was no more. That makes me happy today. To be at peace, to work on other things in life, to learn from other people, and to face this part of my life with enthusiasm.”
