Italy will be the protagonist tomorrow at Roland Garros, with as many as three Azzurri involved in the round of 16 of the men’s singles. A result that confirms the excellent moment of Italian tennis on the Parisian clay.

Opening the day will be Flavio Cobolli, the number 10 seed and considered by many the main candidate to reach the final at the top of the draw. The Roman will take the court at 11 a.m. on the Philippe Chatrier against Zachary Svajda of the United States. Cobolli won the only previous meeting between the two, played on the concrete at Delray Beach in 2024. Up for grabs is a place in the quarterfinals, where the winner will face one of Felix Auger-Aliassime and Alejandro Tabilo, expected in the third match on the center.

On the Suzanne Lenglen, Matteo Berrettini and Matteo Arnaldi will be featured instead. Berrettini, engaged in the third match of the day, is expected to face Argentina’s Juan Manuel Cerundolo around 3 p.m. Both are coming from grueling fifth-set victories, with Cerundolo even coming back from the third longest match in the tournament’s history. For the two it will be the first career face-off.

Next up will be Matteo Arnaldi, who will close the Lenglen program against Frances Tiafoe, the number 19 seed. The two will face each other for the third time: the balance is a perfect tie, with Arnaldi winning on clay in Madrid and Tiafoe winning on grass at Wimbledon. Whoever emerges victorious from this challenge will face the winner of the match between Berrettini and Cerundolo in the quarters.

The women’s program will offer one of the most anticipated matches of the entire tournament. For the first time in this edition, the evening session at Philippe Chatrier will host a women’s match: no earlier than 8:15 p.m., world number one Aryna Sabalenka will take on former ranking leader Naomi Osaka, the number 16 seed.

In the afternoon, on center court, Frenchwoman Diane Parry will take on the surprising Polish Maja Chwalinska in a match that represents a great opportunity for both.

On the Suzanne Lenglen, the women’s program will open at 11 a.m. with the confrontation between Anastasia Potapova, fresh from the elimination of defending champion Coco Gauff, and Anna Kalinskaya. This will be followed by space for the match between Diana Shnaider and Madison Keys, former Australian Open winner, in one of the most interesting matches of the day.
