Inter market, Solet is not enough: in the summit with Udinese sprouts the surprise hit

Milan at the center of big market maneuvers. In a well-known hotel a few steps from the headquarters of the Nerazzurri club, the top management of Inter and Udinese crossed paths in a strategic summit to draw the guidelines for next summer, a meeting served to take stock of several profiles, including old favourites and new suggestions. The strong name that emerged from the table, according to reports from Sky Sport, is that of Arthur Atta, a midfielder born in 2003 and a true revelation of the last Serie A, on whom the Viale della Liberazione management asked for detailed information to get ahead of the competition.

The Frenchman’s profile fits perfectly with the needs of Inter, which is called to redesign a midfield that could say goodbye to Davide Frattesi and that has yet to define the future of young Aleksandar Stankovic. On Atta, back from a 5-goal season in 32 appearances, Friulian sporting director Gianluca Nani had already spoken in enthusiastic tones, who from the Serie A Festival in Parma had even crowned him as “a cross between Bellingham and Zidane.” A consecration that justifies the resistance of Udinese, which is willing to deprive itself of him only in the face of an unrenounceable offer.

The race for the transalpine talent remains, however, tight and far from downhill. For months the player has been in the sights of Napoli, which had included him among the priority reinforcements for Antonio Conte’s tenure, although now the Azzurri’s plans will have to be recalibrated on the new technical project. Not to mention the foreign sirens, particularly those of several Premier League clubs ready to make madness. In order to convince the Pozzo family to sit at the negotiating table, an auction base of no less than 40 million euros will be needed: an important figure that sets the price and officially alerts all suitors.

The Milanese summit, however, did not end with the Atta dossier alone. In fact, Inter took the opportunity to reiterate Nani’s strong liking for Oumar Solet, a French central defender highly esteemed by Cristian Chivu and long on the Nerazzurri’s radar to shore up the backline. In addition, the two clubs formalized the details for the future of Mattia Marello: the Inter management has communicated its intention to redeem outright the promising 2008-born left-back, who arrived on loan from Friuli last summer and is now ready to tie himself permanently to the Nerazzurri colors.
