First signing for Torino’s goal: According to Sky, the Granata have finalized the acquisition of Diego Mascardi, an Italian goalkeeper born in 2006, from Spezia.

Last season, the goalkeeper played in Liguria, making 18 appearances between Serie B and the Coppa Italia, keeping a clean sheet on three occasions. The signing of Mascardi is primarily an investment for the future, while Urbano Cairo and his staff are determined to complete another signing.

Among the names mentioned are Paraguayan goalkeeper Orlando Gill, Lucas Perri of Leeds, and Aaron Ramsdale of Southampton. At the moment, Torino coach Ignazio Abate has Alberto Paleari and Lapo Siviero at his disposal, while Franco Israel is set to leave. “A few young players to bring in who can step right onto the field. Among them, we’re missing a goalkeeper, but I want to thank Paleari—he’s done a great job for me,” said Torino president Cairo.

As for Gill, negotiations have become more complicated in recent weeks. While San Lorenzo had initially set his transfer fee at around 6–7 million euros, the goalkeeper’s (born in 2000) performances at the World Cup have driven up the Argentine club’s demands, with a buyout clause reportedly hovering around 10 million euros—a figure Torino does not currently seem willing to meet. Gill himself has explicitly expressed openness to a move to Torino: “A future at Torino? Why not—it’s a great club in Italy. But now it’s only fair that the club choose the best offer.”
