Palermo Transfer Market: Mattia Perin Considers the Attractive Offer

Mattia Perin is carefully considering his future. The Juventus goalkeeper has caught the eye of Palermo, which is reportedly ready to offer him a two-year contract with an option to extend and a salary higher than his current 1.5 million euros. The prospect of regaining more playing time could be a key factor in his decision. In Sicily, once Jesse Joronen returns from a roughly two-month layoff following the right shoulder injury he sustained in the Coppa Italia match against Lecce, Pippo Inzaghi would find himself managing the competition between two experienced goalkeepers.
To find an immediate solution, Palermo has been active on multiple fronts. In addition to Perin, the Rosanero club has sounded out Samuel Pizzignacco of Monza, born in 2001 and currently second in the Biancorossi’s pecking order behind Demba Thiam. The possibility of signing Emil Audero has also gained traction; the goalkeeper, born in 1997 and owned by Como, is already familiar with the Sicilian scene, having defended the net there during the second half of the 2024–2025 season. Last season, Audero experienced relegation to Serie B with Cremonese, the club to which he had been loaned by Como.
Perin, who had already expressed his desire to return to Genoa back in January, has not yet made up his mind. His departure would force Juventus to make another move in the transfer market: with Guglielmo Vicario set to become the new starter—having arrived on loan from Tottenham through June 30, 2027, with an option to buy set at 8 million euros—and Michele Di Gregorio likely to leave, the Bianconeri would need a reliable backup goalkeeper.
Among the names that could come back into the picture is Juan Musso of Atlético Madrid. The 32-year-old Argentine, no longer a central part of Diego Simeone’s plans, had already been evaluated by Juventus in recent weeks as an alternative to Vicario, before the Bianconeri managed to finalize the deal with Tottenham. His candidacy could now be part of a broader context, potentially linked to the ongoing talks between Juventus and Atlético Madrid regarding Nico González.
As for Di Gregorio’s future, meanwhile, the most concrete option remains a move to Olympique Marseille, which is seeking a new starting goalkeeper following Geronimo Rulli’s departure for Manchester City. Over the past 72 hours, two rounds of talks reportedly took place between the French club, Juventus, and the goalkeeper’s representatives, with all parties open to proceeding with a loan deal. However, rumors regarding Torino and Monza have not been confirmed, as the former Monza player’s priority is reportedly to gain experience abroad.
