Napoli Transfer Market: A Forward Could Partner with Mohamed Salah

Lorenzo Lucca, like Romelu Lukaku, could also continue his career in Turkey. In recent hours, Trabzonspor has reportedly shown interest in the Piedmontese forward, viewing him as a potential addition to make an already strong squad—enhanced by the arrival of Mohamed Salah—even more competitive.

The former Udinese player, currently the first alternative to Hojlund in Napoli’s attacking lineup, is not, however, considered untouchable. The club invested 35 million euros to sign him from Udinese and, following his loan to Nottingham Forest last January, would prefer not to consider another temporary transfer.

That scenario could change if an offer deemed adequate were to come in. In that case, Napoli would be willing to consider Lucca’s permanent departure, freeing up space in the attacking lineup at the same time. This could allow the Azzurri to accelerate their pursuit of Gabriel Jesus, identified as one of their main targets to complete the attack.

However, Trabzonspor is not the only suitor for Lucca. In Italy, Torino has moved with greater determination than its rivals, putting forward a loan offer with an option to buy—a proposal that does not sit well with Napoli, which would prefer to sell the player outright. Genoa and Lazio have also made exploratory inquiries, with the Biancocelesti evaluating Lucca as a possible alternative to Mauro Icardi should the Argentine refuse a transfer to the capital.

As for Gabriel Jesus, the Brazilian born in 1997, who is set to leave Arsenal—where his contract expires in 2027—has reportedly already expressed his interest in a move to Naples. The player, represented in Italy by Branchini, has no intention of renewing with the Gunners and wants a permanent transfer, ruling out a loan deal. His priority is to continue his career at a club competing in the Champions League—a requirement that Napoli fully meets. The main obstacle to the deal remains his salary: the Brazilian currently earns approximately 15 million euros gross per season, a figure that requires a significant reduction in his financial demands to make the deal realistically feasible.
