Olimpia Milano market, coach Poeta risks losing his giant

In the Olimpia Milano household, everyone is focused on the season finale. The Euroleague play-in is far away but, mathematically speaking, still possible. Then there is the Scudetto to play for. However, as is normal, one must also reckon with the future. There are so many issues to be resolved regarding next season’s roster. The risk is to lose some key elements.

While waiting for news on Brooks’s renewal (the American has reiterated, several times, his willingness to stay), the red and white club must also reckon with several rumors, coming from Spain, that would have Barcelona on the trail of one of the key players of the current roster at coach Poeta’s disposal. The target of the Blaugrana would be center Nebo.

The long American, naturalized Slovenian, has an expiring contract. The feeling is that Barça could really get to the classic white smoke, also thanks to several tax breaks that would make the investment on Nebo not at all impossible. The Blaugrana club would not be the only one on the trail of the 1997-class long man who, come what may, would aim to continue playing in the Euroleague.

The only doubt concerns the physical condition of Nebo himself who, apart from this season, has had many physical issues (some important) that have affected his performance. Last year, in fact, the 1997 class center was never available, due to several setbacks, especially a long stop due to a shoulder injury. This year he has regained his best physical condition, so much so that he is a key man for coach Poeta.
