Ducati, Dall'Igna demands explanation: "Suffered too much"

Ducati general manager Gigi Dall’Igna in his usual post-Grand Prix analysis did not hide the Borgo Panigale factory’s difficulties in this start of the championship. Even in Austin the Ducatis have suffered: Marc Marquez managed to finish only fifth, Pecco Bagnaia was ninth.
“A Grand Prix that reflects the true values on the track, a rather unexciting race that took place in a weekend of fluctuating results for us, and that will have to be analyzed very carefully. Saturday started with Diggia in pole position and Pecco and Marc starting from the second row of the grid.”
“Unfortunately, Marc’s mistake in the Sprint Race cost him a heavy penalty, a long lap in the main race, which forced him to lose many positions to his closest rivals and prevented him from fighting for the podium. As always, he showed tenacity and determination, managing to climb back up to fifth place, giving everything with the generosity and character that distinguish this champion who never gives up.”
“Marc, however, was not 100% due to Friday’s crash, and with a still uncertain feeling on the bike, which required adjustments to the set-up and did not allow him to be the Marc Márquez we know so well and from whom we expect so much. If we add to this the constant improvement of our rivals, I dare say the situation is very clear.”
“Bagnaia almost won the Sprint race: it was fantastic and gratifying to see him in the lead for so long. Sunday didn’t go well, but he bounced right back with a determined and aggressive race, with a fast and confident first half. Di Giannantonio, very solid, finished in fourth place, and was once again the best Ducati rider.”
“In the U.S. we suffered more than we should have: a wake-up call that should motivate us to get back to winning, with the confidence that then everything will be even better! Come on, Ducati!” concluded Dall’Igna.
