Juventus market, latest on Dusan Vlahovic also weighs on renewal negotiations

Dusan Vlahovic returns to the infirmary at precisely the most delicate moment for his future at Juventus. The Serbian striker, who is considering a possible contract renewal with the Bianconeri, suffered a new injury during the warm-up of the challenge against Genoa, further complicating the Turin club’s plans. The problem sustained in his left calf during Monday night’s warm-up showed a low-grade injury to the soleus, which will keep Vlahovic off the field for about 20 days.
The Serbian will miss the matches against Atalanta and Bologna, and is unlikely to be available for the April 26 away match against AC Milan as well. A return appears more realistic for the beginning of May, when he plays against Verona. This umpteenth physical stop comes at a crucial moment for the negotiations on the renewal: Juventus, faced with a player who has not guaranteed continuity this season due to repeated physical problems, could in fact decide to bet definitively on other elements, letting the center forward leave.
The Old Lady had reopened just in recent weeks the talks with the player’s entourage, proposing an extension of about two years with a salary linked in double strand with the performance on the field. The situation now becomes more complicated, considering that Vlahovic had already missed 112 days due to injury before his recent brief comeback and that Luciano Spalletti, who admitted after the win over Genoa that he still struggles to decipher his team’s value since he has been at Juventus, might not stand in the way of his transfer.
The new injury, then, could represent a turning point in Juventus’ market strategies. The Juventus management, which had already set a salary cap of 7 million annually with the renewal of Kenan Yildiz, could now consider other types of investment for the attack, permanently letting go of a player who, despite his technical qualities, has failed to provide the continuity that, after last season’s doubts, the Bianconeri environment expected in 2025-2026.
In the meantime, Milan remains at the window: the Rossoneri have already intensified their efforts to convince the striker in the past months, offering similar economic conditions to those of Juventus but with a longer contract (three years instead of two), and the Rossoneri operation is supported by the possible departure of Rafa Leao and the opportunity for Vlahovic to find Massimiliano Allegri, formerly his coach at Juventus. The season finale will inevitably be decisive, on both fronts.
