Italy, more clues on Roberto Mancini: "Back in a hurry, feels on a mission"

The return of Roberto Mancini to the bench of the Italian national team is by no means to be ruled out. After a turbulent farewell a few years ago, the 2021 European champion coach with the Azzurri has applied for a possible comeback, despite currently coaching in the Qatari league.
In the Federcalcio, his name appears on the list of papabili along with those of Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri. His friends and close associates have revealed his great desire to return to redeem himself. “He would love to come back,” his former deputy coach Attilio Lombardo said recently.
Marco Roccati, a former Serie A goalkeeper and now Al-Sadd’s trainer right under Mancini’s current management, confirmed, “We here haven’t really talked about it that much and we haven’t even had time yet. I think, though, that the coach would come back in a hurry because in my opinion he left something unfinished and he would like to finish this mission.”
“But, here, he has to say it. I think he would come back to Italy, probably in a hurry because he is the only coach who has done well since the World Cup and won a major competition. So I think he would come running back to the Italian national team, however, we would have to ask him,” Roccato continued to the microphones of Radio Sportiva.
“We haven’t talked about it yet, there hasn’t even been time because we had three games in the last week, we are preparing the Champions League and we are very focused on finishing the season here trying to do and get the best. Then in the future we will see. Of course, I am linked to him and he is the one who will decide. I, however, am convinced that if a call came to him he would be very happy to come back, that yes.”
