Red Bull’s possible revolution in Formula 1 takes shape with the announcement of Gianpiero Lambiase’s move to McLaren from 2028, Max Verstappen’s longtime track engineer. At the same time, rumors are growing about the Dutchman’s possible early retirement, fueled by the idea that he was the one who pushed Lambiase to the rival stable. In the event of a farewell, there would be a vacancy at Red Bull, and Ralf Schumacher, speaking on the Backstage Boxengasse podcast, spoke about the sensational rumors regarding Charles Leclerc.

The German argues that it is not a good idea: “I think you have to be honest here and say that at the current moment Red Bull is not at all an obvious choice for a Formula 1 driver. Right now there is a project that is however long-term, there is some chaos here and there and not good communication with the rest of the world.”

According to the brother of the legendary Michael, Ferrari is experiencing a good moment in history: “I don’t know if it would make sense for someone like Charles Leclerc to decide to leave a team like Ferrari, which has just started to function in the right way, and it would not be a smart move either.” Finally, Ralf said that the top driver for the red car is indeed the Monegasque: “Ferrari needs to continue developing new young drivers, but still they should at least keep one, and his name is Charles Leclerc.”
