Vienna: Zverev awaits one between Jannik Sinner and Frances Tiafoe

Alexander Zverev is the first finalist of the ATP 500 tournament in Vienna.
The German managed to get the better of the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, who had gotten the better of our Matteo Berrettini in the quarters. This time, however, he succumbed in two sets with a score of 6-3, 6-3.
This result is of great interest to Jannik Sinner, who will face Frances Tiafoe in the other semifinal: if the South Tyrolean manages to prevail, in fact, he will face Zverev himself. Who, against Alcaraz, secured the match with breaks and double breaks in the seventh and ninth games of the first set. In the second, however, one break in the sixth game was enough.
No Italian has ever won the tournament in the Austrian capital. Last year it was close for Lorenzo Sonego, who succumbed in the final to Russia’s Andrej Rublev in two sets (6-4, 6-4). Back in 2002, too, an Italian made it all the way to the last act: Gianluca Pozzi succumbed to Petr Korda.
