When you hear the engine there'is Sky

Sky
“Red, Reds, Reds.” In the assonance of these three words is the meaning of an endless, exciting season, made up of great challenges, which will be visible all live and in HD only on Sky, with increasingly advanced and innovative viewing modes. Three words for the hopes of as many pillars of Formula 1 and MotoGP: Ferrari, Valentino Rossi, Ducati.
Not forgetting the revamped Aprilia. Legends of contemporary history that ignite the anticipation for the new motor season kicking off on March 20 in Australia (F1) and Qatar (MotoGP).
WHEN YOU FEEL THE ENGINE, THERE’S SKY – It’s the longest season, with two more F1 GPs than last year: from March to November, only on Sky will engines enjoy full coverage, with all 39 Grand Prix – 21 for Formula 1 and 18 for the MotoGP – live and in High Definition and no fewer than 21 exclusives: 11 for F1 and 10 for MotoGP.
Ferrari-Mercedes, Yamaha-Honda, Ducati-Aprilia: as many as 9 months of challenges for 33 race weekends, to be lived all in one breath: a super technological, innovative and top interaction experience, to follow each GP with the feeling of really being on the track.
MOTORS, THE 2nd PILAST OF SKY SPORT – Numbers, statistics and product quality confirm F1 and Motomondiale as the second pillar of Sky Sport’s offer.
It starts from an audience of more than 7 million 130 thousand unique viewers in 2015, with an overall growth of about 40 percent in ratings compared to the previous year. An audience base that testifies to a steadily growing passion and increasingly popular and high-quality TV coverage.
Above all, a constantly evolving offer, in line with the needs of an audience that is no longer passive, but the protagonist of its viewing experience.
Therefore, also for the 2016 motor season, Sky will not stop devising, changing, optimizing and surprising. Always with the intention of bringing fans inside the circuit. It will do this in 5 main steps:
.
1. 2 DEDICATED CHANNELS AND MORE THAN 1,000 HOURS OF LIVE: For the fourth consecutive year, Formula 1 will run on Sky Sport F1 HD (channel 207) and, for the third year, motorcycles will be on Sky Sport MotoGP HD (channel 208). Always on, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Up to 30 hours of live coverage per weekend, which will become about 60 hours on the six weekends with F1 and MotoGP running simultaneously (March 18-20, April 1-3, September 2-4, October 21-23 and 28-30, November 11-13).
2. EXCELLENCE AND TECHNOLOGICAL NOVELTIES: in 2015 alone, the 2 interactive HD mosaics of F1 and MotoGP garnered over 1 million unique viewers. They will be among the stars of the season again this year, each with as many as 5 dedicated channels. Plus, more cameras, more analysis, and more paddock: coming up with the latest technological systems to analyze trajectories, corners and overtaking. Optimized to the highest level are the “Sky Touch” and “Ghost” for motorcycles, and the “Sky Pad” for F1 (see pages 4 and 8). Coming soon is a new, ultra-modern “Virtual Reality” by Fabiano Vandone for Formula 1. And with Sky Go (about 630 thousand unique viewers in 2015), you will be able to watch GPs anywhere.
3. THE TEAM OF TOP TALENT: Promoted talent and passion of Mauro Sanchini, who will join the voice of MotoGP Guido Meda (Deputy Director of Sky Sports and head of the motorsports editorial staff) on top class commentary. Sanchini will also narrate the Moto3 championship with Zoran Filicic. In Moto2, alongside Filicic comes Roberto Locatelli, 125 world champion in 2000. Irene Saderini is confirmed, conducting live events from the paddock and traveling studios on European circuits. Thanks to an agreement with Dorna, there will be no shortage of analysis and commentary by Loris Capirossi, as well as speeches and interviews by pit correspondents Sandro Donato Grosso and Marco Selvetti. In addition to the role of columnist, Paolo Beltramo will add a column dedicated to memories of forty years lived from inside the Motomondiale.
In F1, Carlo Vanzini will reunite with Ferrari test driver Marc GenĂ© on commentary, while world champion Jacques Villeneuve will be the main face from the paddock, led by Federica Masolin on the anchor. The “Sky Wall” returns, with the expertise and spontaneity of Davide Valsecchi, joined by analysis from IndyCar driver Luca Filippi and 2003 and 2006 GT world champion Matteo Bobbi.
4. SKY RACING TEAM VR46, ENHANCED COMMITMENT ON THE PIST: For the third consecutive year, Sky will offer more and more opportunities for young Italian Moto3 talents to grow thanks to Sky Racing Team VR46. It starts again with three riders in the box: Romano Fenati to establish himself, Andrea Migno to grow, Nicolò Bulega to learn and amaze.
5. IF YOU HAVE A MOTOR YOU SEE IT ON SKY: On the Sky platform, in addition to MotoGP (MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3) and F1, you can follow the most important motorsport championships. Starting with the world championships of GP2, GP3 and the Porsche SuperCup. And then IndyCar and Ferrari Challenge, both exclusively on Sky Sports (IndyCar for another 3 years). Not forgetting Superbike, World Motocross, 24H Le Mans and the FIA World Touring Car Championship on Eurosport HD channels. And finally, the 2016 Enduro World Championship, on Fox Sports HD.
Interaction will, as always, be top notch thanks to the official Social channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (over 830 thousand subscribers and more than 5 million interactions in 2015 through the hashtag #SkyMotori) and the skysporthd.it website, which is constantly updated on track results and news (from this year also the “Matchcenter,” to follow the progress of the races live).
Sky’s all news channels will also provide full coverage of the Formula 1 and Motomondiale weekends through Sky Sport24 HD and Sky TG24 HD.
“Motoring is the second pillar of Sky Sport’s offer. We are the only pay TV with two channels entirely dedicated to motors and having a certain technology. We are up 40 percent regarding ratings, we are looking forward to the longest season ever: from March to November if you hear an engine there will be Sky,” told Jacques Raynaud, Executive Vice President.
