Marc Marquez’s Jerez weekend was very up and down: from pole and win in the Sprint he went to another zero in the long race, for exaltedness the second in four races. He is now fifth in the championship with 57 points and he himself admitted that he does not feel he is in a title fight. Another episode of Inside Ducati has already been posted on Youtube, which talks just about the Jerez weekend, and Gigi Dall’Igna and former Red Bull sport director Christian Horner also appear: the two talk just about the Spanish rider, and before the race, Christian, wished the 93 good luck.

There was also a funny part between the two teammates of the red box, Pecco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez. For months there has been talk of a possible return of the Spaniard to Honda, and 93 told of having been in Japan in recent days, thus fueling the rumors: “I saw him. How you like to make people talk about you,” Bagnaia joked, then the alien laughed back, “But it only lasted an hour. It made me laugh a lot…if not, what would they talk about in podcasts and on social media?” The Catalan then admitted that it was just a marketing strategy, in fact Claudio Domenicali recently confirmed Marquez’s renewal in the factory box for 2027: all that is missing is the officialdom, which will come when the MotoGP top brass will give the go-ahead after finalizing some agreements.

However, the episode also shows the Spaniard’s crash on the second lap, while he was behind his brother Alex, followed by his apology to the box: “I’m sorry, it’s my fault. As soon as I gave gas I lost control of the bike. There are days when I understand why I fall, but this time I don’t know what happened.” Despite the mistake, the Spaniard was still positive: “We were fast.”

The next event will be May 15-17 with the Catalonia Grand Prix, where Marquez along with Pecco, will have new components for the Desmosedici GP26 already tried in the Jerez seasonal test, which could be a possible turning point for his season.
